Name of Artifact: Response to Intervention Training

Date of Artifact: August 25, 2024

Course: EDUC 235 - Science of Reading

Rationale:

I have included this artifact, Response to Intervention Training, under Standard 9, Professional Training and Ethical Practice, because it shows that I have used other resources to further my own education as a teacher. Standard 9 states "The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice" and these trainings help me to keep up with updated teaching practices and continue to grow my knowledge.

Reflection

What does this artifact represent about me as a teacher?

This artifact shows that I am dedicated to continue learning about new and efficient ways to teach students. I am committed to furthering my education even as I begin teaching in my own classroom. I want to do everything in my power to make my classroom a place where students can get the education they deserve.

How does this artifact reflect my personal growth and strengths as a teacher?

Before I took my EDUC 235 course, I did not have a multitude of resources that I could use to help me continue my education past just the material I learn in school. This training course and website has so many useful tools that I can use to implement important teaching strategies into my future classroom.

What skills do I want to improve in relation to this standard?

I would like to continue to use this program to learn as much as I can to properly prepare myself to teach my future students. I will continue to use these training courses to push myself to stay educated past what I learn at school and use it to better the education of my students.
