What does this artifact say about me as a teacher?
This artifact demonstrates that I understand that not every child learns the same way. Especially with younger children, my job as an educator is to find out how they learn because they often will not be able to tell you. All children learn differently. Some learn better by having visuals provided, and some do just fine auditorily. This powerpoint is just one example of how I could approach teaching this math lesson. I could also use other instructional strategies alongside this one depending on the learning styles present in my classroom and how well the students grasp the information provided.

How does this artifact reflect my personal growth and strengths as a teacher?
When I was presented with the task of making a teaching presentation, at first, I found it difficult of how to make it into a presentation because I like math to be as hands on and straight forward as it can be. Through the process of learning this teaching method using some trial and error, I was able to find a way to make this into a visual appealing and easy to follow instructional powerpoint. This highlights by ability to adapt when information has to be presented in new ways.

What skills do I want to improve in relation to this standard?
This standard talks about using a variety of instructional methods and often times, that can require you to get creative and teach something in a way you have never taught it before. I want to work on thinking outside of the box, more than I already do, to create fun and engaging, but still meaningful, ways to teach new information to a class. Ultimately, teaching is always more effective when you get the students more engaged in what you are doing.
